Andrew Paul Brooks

During a visit to the Urbis yesterday, I saw Brooks' "Reality Hack: Hidden Manchester" exhibition, which was just breathtaking. Each image is crafted from hundreds of different photographs using different lighting techniques to bring some of Manchester's hidden beauties to life. My favourite had to be "Hidden Arndale", a place beneath the Arndale rarely seen by anybody. The lighting and vividness of colour is just astounding.

Running until May, the exhibition is well worth a look if you're in Manchester.

Some more sunsetting-ness

Just because I love sunsets so much!

Calm after yet another storm!

Gorgeous rainbow (also reflected in the clouds - not sure how!) that appeared earlier this evening after a lot of rain, thunder and lightning!

Oh, and the houses aren't built on a slant, it's actually the church spire that's crooked!

Very twinkly, very sparkly

Random candle pictures I took in a celebratory drunken state over the weekend. 'Cos I'm weird like that.

Someday, I'd like to be this good...

Here are a couple of photographers' sites that I really enjoy spending time on - I could spend hours looking over the same photos and still feel the same each time. Don't ask me what it is I love about photography so much, because I'm not sure! Maybe the emotions and feelings that a photograph can evoke in people. Or maybe the fact that a device can even capture such a thing. Who knows!

Here is the monochrome work of Chema Madoz. I just love the surrealism of some of his work, whilst still using everyday objects and being able to shed a different light on them.

And my second featured photographer is none other than my good friend Attila, who I met at university. This guy has such a feel for anything design related, but his photography is what I'm most envious of! : )
